Private practice can be hard work, and I’m not talking about seeing lots of patients.
What I’m referring to managing the mental anguish of not being busy; the stress of running the practice; dealing with patients dropping out and not following your recommendations…
After many years in practice what I can say it’s not you and it usually is just a day.
So don’t be stopped!
When things feel tough, when roadblocks appear to be in your way…take a breath, step back and to the side. You can and will see things from a different perspective.
Here’s 3 ways to avoid being stopped and carry on regardless.
- Look at your quarterly trend.
- Focus on your to-do list and get ‘shit’ done!
- Block off an hour and get out of your practice
When we’re stopped it’s usually because we add unnecessary meaning to a particular situation WHICH ISN’T TRUE! Our ego runs that show.
So here’s my bonus tip:
Create small STOP signs, business card size and place them around the place.
When you feel your ego stepping up and throwing an imaginary roadblock in the way, this sign will help jog your sub-conscious into action and get you back on track.
Stay the course.
